The kids loved making Cake Balls with Sprinkles. We made these twice. Once with lemon and once with chocolate. Both Sydney and Tyler like putting/dumping the sprinkles on the cookies.
We went to OMSI one day. We actually explored outside of the childrens area. The kids really liked making spin art. After OMSI we went to lunch with Daddy, which is always a treat. As soon as we get close to Daddy's office the kids start clapping their hands and getting excited. Plus they get to drive in the tunnels and say "WOHOO" at the top of their lungs going into Portland.
Sydney had a princess party that her friend Anna invited her to. She was so excited for this party. I did her hair in a princess type bun and she wore her princess dress and shoes. We heard her favorite song, Taylor Swift's "You Belong With Me," as we pulled up to Annas house. Sydney promptly said, "Daddy I don't have time I have to go to a Princess Party." It was a lot of fun for her. I am really glad she is making some friends in our new area.
During the time my Mom was here, I took advantage of her sewing skills. I have been working on our Christmas stockings. Each one is a different cross-stitch. I was able to get the kids' done before Grandma came and she helped me sew them together. I also made a dress for Sydney (which I think is darling!) and a VIP chair cover for when it's a special day for the kids. Thanks for your help Mom!!!! The fabric that is stars is the back of Sydney's and the presents is the back of Tyler's. Ryans' is next on the list and half way stitched. I'll post pictures when I'm completely done with his. The pink dress Sydney is wearing in the group picture is her new dress. We also made a matching purse to go with it that she puts a little Book of Mormon in to go to church with.
Tyler has started to really enjoy his age. He is talking more and more and exerting his independence. He is very interested in everything that we do and wants to "help" quite a bit. When he is doing something that requires extra patience on my end I ask him "Tyler how old are you?" He promptly replies "twooo" in this darling voice. It is a good reminder to me that they are only two once and he is growing up so fast. He loves pointing out what is on his shirt every day. Here he is wearing a lion shirt and he growls like a lion when he wears this shirt. He recently has been going around crawling acting like a dog or cat. My Mom taught him how to "beg" for a treat and roll over when pretending to be a dog. He loved it!
Sydney is enjoying being 4. When we were doing pictures she really wanted to take a picture of Ryan and me. So she did and it actually turned out pretty good. She got our faces and everything. She is very girly and loves skirts and dresses. She doesn't like to wear shorts, she is all about the skirts. She is very imaginative. When Mom and I were sewing she took my pattern pieces and played like they were bandages for her stuffed animals. She played "doctor" with grandma. We need to work on her bedside manner.
