Brady's First Birthday

Brady turned one on May 31. This year has flown by! I can't believe he is one already. He is such a joy in our family. For his birthday weekend, we went down to Grammy and Papas and had cake and ice cream. Great Grandma and Granddad Alexander came up to enjoy the evening with us. I made Brady's cake and was so excited for him to eat it. I made the icing out of fondant so it didn't get too messy. The next day we went and rode bikes and the tractor. Tyler loved the tractor and we put Brady in the back. They thought they were so cool. Sydney got her training wheels taken off her bike and she hasn't gotten off the bike since. She LOVES it! Ryan and Papa taught her how to better use her breaks. The actual day of Brady's birthday we ate donuts for breakfast and I gave him an extra long bath. He loves to sit and play in the tub. That night he "opened" a couple presents. He actually had no interest in opening them, but Sydney and Tyler were really excited to help. Then he ate a cupcake that I made for him and made a HUGE mess. He loved the frosting and loved licking it off of his fingers. It was a fun weekend and day.

Misc. May Pictures

Sydney recently had an open house for her school. I am so proud of what she has accomplished this year. She loves her class and her friends. She is reading and writing really well and she loves to learn. These are a couple of the art projects she has done that are on the Kindergarten wall.

Tyler has hit a growth spurt and is full of energy. He loves to play at the school park. He climbs and runs and swings. He is complete boy who is really growing up fast. I just love all his positive energy. He is also at the cute stage where he says the funniest things. He just cracks me up! He is a great big brother and a big help with Brady.
Sydney learned how to do the monkey bars at school this year. She loves to run around and play at her "school park." She really enjoys recess at school and feels like she never has enough time to run around. We are definitely ready for summer and being outside all day long.

Brady has the best smile ever. He wakes up with a smile and it lasts all day long. He loves sitting with Daddy in the morning. He also loves playing with his big brother and sister. They have taken to calling Brady "boo boo." He loves the attention that they give him. He is also into EVERYTHING! He wants to pull everything out of cupboards, baskets, boxes, bins. You name it, he wants to get into it.

We were walking to school one day and the school had this tree blocked off. Apparently the day before, a swarm of bees came and made a hive. They had to get someone to come and take it away. The kids loved looking at it - from a distance of course.
Sydney had her first piano recital. I am very proud of all that she is accomplishing. She played two songs and did a fantastic job!
